How the site is funded and how paid content is kept separate.
World University Atlas is funded by university advertising and sponsorships. Listings themselves are free: every university in the directory is listed, and every program we verify is published, whether or not its university advertises.
What universities can pay for
- Featured University: one labeled banner under the header on every page, one university at a time
- Homepage & Display: one of six labeled university cards on the homepage, also shown on the country and subject pages the programs belong to
- Subject and country pages: a labeled card above the results on a subject, degree-level or country page the programs belong to
Every paid placement is labeled “Sponsored” and appears in its own section, separate from directory results.
Packages and yearly prices are on the advertising page. Every sponsorship carries a 30-day money-back guarantee: a request sent to info@worlduniversityatlas.com within 30 days of the campaign’s start date is refunded in full.
What money cannot buy
- A change to any sourced fact, or a program being marked verified
- The order of directory results
- Removal of a correction supported by an official source
- Editorial copy in guides
